I have been thinking a lot about goals and future plans for my life. Growing up in my family, if you didn't have a goal, you were just plan ole' lazy! I never wanted to be pegged or thought of as 'lazy', so I was ALWAYS working towards something...anything. When I was a teenager I knew when I grew up I wanted to be my own boss. Here I am today, doing photography and working with my parents business. I am my own boss. Since I was 17 I knew I wanted to buy my own house when I moved out. House, house, house. That is all I thought about. In 2012, four years later, my husband and I bought our first home. In 2009, I met my husband. I KNEW at that moment we were going to be in each others lives forever. Last year I knew I wanted to buy a new "family" car and not our little mini cooper that we had (car seats don't fit well in those). A year later, my husband and I were able to buy our "family" cars.
You get the point. Goals are what have driven my life, my business, and my future. I have learned that by always have a plan in my life, I have been able to achieve whatever I have put my mind too. I make it sound easy...don't get my wrong sometimes it ain't easy! But after all that dedication and hard work to there, the feeling when I have achieved it is pure bliss.
My new aspiration? To take the wedding photography industry by storm. I am ready! What is your next goal?
If you don't design your own life plan, chances are you'll fall into someone else's plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much. -Jim Rohn
