I know it is more of mid-west thing, but graduation portrait sessions are so fun. I think I just get excited FOR them that they will be leaving high school and embarking on life...Such a fun and pivotal point of life. So, I was pretty excited to be asked to shoot these graduation shots, because it is not something I get to do everyday!
These past few months have been INSANE. Between launching another business while keeping the others going strong, life has been a bit of a juggling act to keep things balanced. I cannot complain though. We have been blessed! Although, by the looks of my blog, it seems I have not been doing any shoots, but that is just the opposite. Shoots have been busier than ever as well, and I could not be happier about that as well. I am excited to share my latest shoots over the next few weeks!
It has been an interesting challenge to see how many shoots I can squeeze into an already busy, 9 month pregnant lady's schedule. I am so thankful that I have some awesome clients that are willing to wake up at 5am to get ready for an early morning shoot just because that was the only time available! Morning light is sure my favorite and made for a great shoot with Nicole! :)
Yes, I am still shooting and due in two weeks. In fact, I have a full week ahead of photoshoots. Some days I think I am crazy for shooting this close to my due date, but most of the time and I am just happy to be doing something that I love...AND something to keep my mind off how miserable being 9 months pregnant is... This shoot with little Isabella was such a fun one. She was 100% girl. Twirling her dress and know how to crack the biggest, most adorable smile. I had a hard time picking which were my favs for the blog! :)
As you know from my blog, I LOVE working with little kids. Their smiles are contagious and the things they say just crack me up. But getting to work with adults as well makes me realize I just can't pick one thing that I love photographing. Working with adults gets my creative juices going. I know that if I have an idea in my mind, I can explain it and they can pull it off. Instead of making them laugh my running around looking like a crazy person or making farting notices behind the camera, we are laughing together at the fun conversations shared. Just one of the many reasons I love my job!
This family of five was one of the most fun shoots! Yes, 5 kids! You would think this would be a crazy photo shoot with 5 kids running around...but it was just the opposite. These guys were the most well behaved and loving group of brothers and sisters I have ever seen. Each one had a personality that sparkled.
I tell ya, it is a blast to work with little models such as Calista. I would say one of the hardest things for any of my clients to do is the "serious face". Natuarlly, people just have a hard time doing that on the spot after smiling for a while. But this little fashionista has perfected the no-smile face...she owned it.
Is it okay if I say every photo shoot is my favorite? .... Because it's true. Little Evan was just a big ball of smiles and so fun photograph. And I guess it did help that we had not one but TWO awesome classic cars that we found in the parking lot to spice up the photos. Okay, well I cheated, one is my brothers, but it completely matched his outfits.
